Album

Homosapien is the 1981 the second solo album by British musician Pete Shelley, following his work with the group Buzzcocks and the experimental instrumental album Sky Yen recorded in 1974 and eventually released in 1980. Homosapien saw a marked departure from the punk stylings of Buzzcocks' records, being heavily influenced by the programmed synthesizer sounds and drum machines of synthpop and featuring Shelly on acoustic guitar. The title track was released as a UK single and was banned by the BBC. Shiver 2. Evolution 3. Electric 4. Cold Romance 5. Love & Defeat 6. Homosapien 7. Vertigo 8. Nightfall 9. New Morning 10. Casual Success 11. Ziggurat Last we heard of Australian three-piece PVT, they were exploring the outer reaches of electronic rock with their 2010 album 'Church With No Magic'. All of which makes their new album 'Homosapien' - their fourth studio album and Felte debut - a startling listening. The difference is apparent from the instant you hit play on 'Homosapien': Richard Pike is singing. Album: Homosapien Label: Last Gang Records Inc. Released: Feb 12th 2013 more fresh tunes http. Its a shame that PVT further amplify the vocal lines throughout Homosapien, but without the necessary leap forward in lyricism and melody to justify the approach. Full Review. Best of 2013. Sorry, something went wrong. Homosapien is at times somewhat unrefined and confusing, but generally it presents as a complex and accomplished beast. A good album, with great moments. PVT sit firmly in the later category with their fourth full length aptly titled Homosapien. The Sydney based trio have had to change their name for legal reasons formerly Pivot and while doing so, also changed their sound from their experimental beginnings to a unique brand of darkened synth-pop with smatterings of alt-rock attitude. Picking up where Church With No Magic left off, Homosapien continues to move in a forward motion towards something beyond even the bands own grasp
