The album has had re-releases in 1993, 1998, and in digital format in 2010. Ginell awards the album 4. 5 stars and states: Lyle Mays waited a long, long time before straying from the Pat Metheny Group to issue his first solo album, but when he did, the results were at once removed but not. Lyle David Mays November 27, 1953 February 10, 2020 was an American jazz pianist, composer, and member of the Pat Metheny Group. Metheny and Mays composed and arranged nearly all of the group's music, for which Mays won eleven Grammy Awards. Once again Lyle Mays demonstrates his outstanding creative musical abilities. O potpourri of sound and tonal variations coupled with his mastery of piano improvisational talent. His newer compositions and recordings are even better. Known best as the keyboard played for Pat Metheny, Mays is here given free rein to experiment on his own music. Variable but melodic, the CD contains a few surprises but no let-downs. Recommended for all Metheny lovers
