Pickin' Up the Pieces is the debut album by country rock band Poco, released in 1969. It was one of the earliest examples of the emerging genre of country rock. Several of the songs here date back to Richie Furay's days in Buffalo Springfield. An early version of What a Day was included on the Springfield's eponymous box set in 2001. Bassist Randy Meisner appears on the album but quit the band shortly before the record was released. Meisner's exit was the result of his anger from being excluded. Не сейчас. Kabasa - Pickin' Up The Pieces. Dapper Dan. an impressive groove without cluttering up the arrangements or depending too strongly on their influences to convincingly conjure the sound of the classic era of soul. Fitz & the Tantrums may lack some of the sweaty muscle of Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, the current titans of the retro-soul scene, but this band is clearly going for a different approach, and on their own terms they've made a solid album that fuses past and present and creates a space that's a cool place to be. Musicians on the album include members of The Wailers, Soul Syndicate, The In Crowd, and the Now Generation. The album was later licensed to United Artists subsidiary Ballistic Records, and was reissued in an expanded form in 2002 by Pressure Sounds. The songs on the album have been described as. Picking Up the Pieces is the eleventh studio album from American singer-songwriter Jewel, released on September 11, 2015, through Sugar Hill Records. Self-produced, the album is said to be a bookend to her 1995 debut album, Pieces of You. The announcement for the album came on July 1, 2015, as part of Jewel's monthly EDA INCLUSIVE series on her website. In the same post she describes the writing process. The only hint of the turmoil behind the scenes came on the cover, where Meisner had been erased from the cover painting and replaced with a dog the music itself was as smooth, sunny, and harmony-laden as anything a fan of the emerging Laurel Canyon sound could ask for. It didn't help that business difficulties prevented the Pickin' Up the Pieces record from receiving the kind of promotion it really needed in order to stand out in the marketplace
